We envisioned the Library of the Future as an inspiring place for children which contributes to children's personal development.
Children are being challenged, stimulated and supported by the library to explore and share their knowledge, creativity, imagination and experiences in both passive and active ways which are based upon their preferences.
By using the Theory of Multiple Intelligences of Howard Gardner as a base, children can do this in the way that suits them best, according to their own talent.
When the library also acts as a guide to using new media, all children have the chance to learn new media literacy's in order to fully function in today's society.
Furthermore, the children's section of the library of the future is influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach to education in that it gives children the choice, what, when and how they want to learn, experience, create and/or share.
